an artistic-year program to
20th Anniversary of the Chamber of Architects of Saxony:
For the 20th anniversary of the Chamber of Architects of Saxony has Ruairí O'Brien. ARCHITECTURE. Light. SPACE ART. an accompanying artistic years for public relations developed with the broad attention should be obtained in hard year for the diversity of the architectural profession in general and for the House of Architects in particular.
Titled "showcase. Better with architects be the year with activities and events different facets of the complex architectural profession and 20 years celebrates the history of professional association: Architecture to view and experience. In the "shop window" not only colleagues, but all times interested people are invited to gain insight and views in the past, present and future of the architectural profession, to learn new or known to be rediscovered. Our show grows with
"showcase" in the House of Architects document the anniversary year and informational support. Already, we invite you to a "film look" as start in January in the entertaining film "Mon Oncle" (Jacques Tati, 1958) ein. The experienced its first wave of institutional critique as artistic practice in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It takes on different forms of art, manifesto, to the (art) political activism, and problematizes their environment. The focus of the discussion in particular is a critical approach to the art world and the art market. The three artist Gustav Metzger (b. 1926), Marcel Broodthaers (* 1924, † 1978) und Franz Erhard Walther (*1939), so unterschiedlich ihre Werke auch sein mögen, finden in ihrer Auseinandersetzung mit der Kritik an der Institution eine gemeinsame Schnittstelle.
Marcel Broodthaers – Das Werk des belgischen Künstlers Marcel Broodthaers beschäftigt sich mit Literatur und Politik. Es trägt Elemente der Pop-Art und der Konzeptkunst in sich. Dabei thematisiert Broodthaers den Museumsbetrieb, den Kunstmarkt und zeitgenössische Kunsttheorien. In Anlehnung an Magrittes „Ceci n’est pas une pipe“, behauptet er „Das ist ein Kunstwerk“ und gründet in seiner Infragestellung der gesellschaftlichen Rolle des Museums in seiner Wohnung ein „Museum für Moderne Art ".
Franz Erhard Walther - The German artist Franz Erhard Walther invites the viewer to a specific discussion with his art as he dictates the materials, it is the viewer that it created the work. The artist not only plays with his authorship, but is opposed to the classic work of art and understanding that the artist produced the work, and this is exhibited in the museum.
Gustav Metzger - The artist Gustav Metzger is stateless by his involvement with the destructive potential of the 20 Century as the inventor of the auto-destructive and the auto-creative art. In his actions, writings and manifestos wendet er sich deutlich gegen die Kommerzialisierung, durch seine Aufforderung zum „Art Strike“ und Weigerungen an Ausstellungen teilzunehmen kritisiert er den Markt und die Institutionen der Kunst.
Neben der institutionskritischen Arbeit können auch Ausstellungen im kunstraum muenchen als gemeinsamer Nenner zwischen den Künstlern gesehen werden. Metzger hatte hier unter anderem 1997 seine erste Einzelausstellung in Deutschland, Broodthaers wurde 1992 vom Kunstraum ausgestellt, 1976 und 1982 zeigte Walther hier sein „Diagramm zum ersten Werksatz“ und „40 Sockel. Schritte seitwärts“.
Im Zuge der Aufarbeitung der Geschichte des kunstraum muenchen soll nun aus heutiger Sicht ein erneuter Look at the artists and their exhibitions in the art area and its critical work to be thrown with the institution. At a lecture, a discussion with the artist and a curator talk, Dr. Dorothea Zwirner, Franz Erhardt Walther and Dr. Justin Hoffman are loaded.

Last night we tried out our lighting design for the historical fountain on the market square of Freiberg. 4 hours of cold wet weather, adjusting the light, conversations and discussing the results with the city authorities is the life of the architectural lighting designer. The drawings and images done before hand are only part of the story. The "idea" or "Vision" has to be tested in the real! The intention has to match the physical reality before proceeding with the execution.
